If you've outgrown the idea of renting in Old Gurgaon or the MG Road belt, the choice often comes down to Golf Course Road or Sohna Road. Both are in south Gurgaon, both have good residential quality, but the rent gap and lifestyle are meaningfully different.

Golf Course Road commands a 30–50% rent premium over equivalent Sohna Road apartments. The premium is driven by brand value, road aesthetics, and the DLF address. Whether that premium is worth it depends entirely on your budget and priorities. Many senior professionals pay it without hesitation. Many others find Sohna Road offers 90% of the lifestyle at 60% of the cost.
Commute to Cyber City
Both corridors face similar commute times to Cyber City — typically 20–40 minutes depending on traffic. Golf Course Road has marginally better road infrastructure. Sohna Road's NH-48 cloverleaf access is good, but internal sector roads can get congested. Neither has metro access yet — you're dependent on cabs, personal vehicles, or the (expensive) app-based cab services.
Schools and family infrastructure
Sohna Road has good schools too — DPS Sohna Road, Heritage School, Scottish High International. Golf Course Road area has Shri Ram School (Aravali), which is one of Gurgaon's most respected schools. Both zones work well for families — Golf Course Road offers slightly more green space and a quieter residential character.
If budget is flexible and you want Gurgaon's luxury residential experience, Golf Course Road delivers it. If you're optimising for value, Sohna Road gives you the same south Gurgaon location and good infrastructure at significantly lower cost. For most professionals, Sohna Road is the rational pick; Golf Course Road is the aspirational one.
